Unique Learning System (ULS) maintains alignment with state standards through instructional targets. These targets are the bridge between the general content standards adopted by a state and relevant curriculum content for students with significant disabilities.
The Alignment Tools in Teacher Reference Materials contain documents and targets for connecting the ULS lessons and materials to standards. The alignment map should default to your state's identified standards. Appropriate tools are located below for alignment with your state.
Content Standards (Common Core State Standards): Alignment Tools link the ULS lessons, units and supporting materials with the grade band Instructional Targets. Additionally, Differentiated Tasks are defined in three levels for each content standard. Individual states may add their State's Standards and/or Extended Standards to this form document.
There are six alignment documents available:

Instructional Targets: The bridge between the general content standards adopted by a state and relevant curriculum content for students with significant disabilities. The current revision of the ULS Instructional Targets has been aligned to the Common Core Standards in English Language Arts and Mathematics. The alignment document should be used to ensure students with adverse abilities are connected and have access to the content standards. The alignment documents are in PDF forms, enabling users to fill in their state's extended standards.
Dynamic Learning Maps Essential Elements: For those using the DLM Essential Elements to access Common Core Standards, download the alignment tool. The DLM alignment is provided for ELA and Mathematics.
Next Generation Social Studies: Aligned to National History, Geography, Civics standards, and more, this tool provides access to each general education standard for social studies and monthly ULS lessons that address these standards.
Next Generation Science Standards: ULS provides access to the general education curriculum in main subjects, including science. To see how ULS provides access to general education standards, download this alignment tool.
