The Profile in the Unique Learning System GPS will provide areas for the service providers to investigate and identify where the student would benefit from a formal IEP goal. Naturally, service providers should complete performance-based assessments as well so they have true evidence that this is an area of need for the students. The Benchmark Assessments will assist in collecting further evidence in creating present levels of performance.
Profile descriptors are selected based on the observations of service providers who know and have observed the student performing these tasks. The Profile enables the student's team to track standards-based descriptors that will be the focus of IEP goals. Profile descriptors may provide the basis for the present level of performance statements. These selected areas will suggest additional Benchmark Assessments that may support the present level of data information. Additionally, skills can be tracked from the Profile that directly correlate to a student’s IEP goal. Tracking skills from the Profile gives a summary of all the resources available in ULS that are directly related to the skill. Each tracked skill provides a place for the service providers to write the correlating IEP goal. Tracking a skill also gives an appropriate recommendation on which assessments the student should take in the GPS. ![]() Individual Skill Tracking can be used to identify skills that should be tracked for IEP goals and individual performance. Individual tracking focuses on the student’s current level of performance, the goals set by the service providers, and the instructional strategies to achieve those goals within the Unique Learning System curriculum framework. |
