The News-2-You® weekly articles and worksheets that open as an iDoc have text-to-speech capabilities. n2y® uses a natural-sounding text to speech tool to support the newspaper. View and hear activities on computers, whiteboards, and tablets to enhance and extend instruction.
To make text on the page speak, click on a line of text in the document. See text with highlighting as it is read-aloud in activities and communication boards. Change highlighting color to meet students’ needs or preferences during instruction with just a click. You can also hide symbols in activities for text-only versions.
Speak button reads one line of text at a time.
Speak Page button reads the entire page of text. The Speak Page button supports auto scroll, a feature that scrolls the page as the text is read aloud, at any zoom percentage.
The Speak Page button is only available in articles. Worksheets and other articles support text to speech by simply clicking the line of text in the document.
