Benchmark Assessments in Unique Learning System are formative measures to identify present levels of performance and targets for intervention. These modified performance tools provide data on selected skill areas to track student progress. Service providers may select the areas of assessments that are appropriate for an individual unique learner. Baseline data is generated from each assessment that can be compared to monitor growth over a period of time.
Each Benchmark in the GPS has its own Administration Guide. This guide is encouraged to be read prior to the performance of each assessment. Important assessment information such as administration recommendations, scoring, and interpretation of results are included in each guide. The Teacher Scoring Sheet, to be used with offline administration, is also included in the guide.
Benchmarks are available for foundational English Language Arts and Mathematics skills. Each main Skill Category is further broken down into specific skills such as Print Concepts, Letter Identification, Counting, and Measurement.
Benchmarks offer administration flexibility and can be administered by assigning to Student View, through Teacher-Led, or Offline.
