Email addresses (or alternatively UPNs) are required when adding students to n2y subscriptions to help ensure clean data. Adding a student using an individual email address will avoid duplicating records for a single student across all of your n2y Subscriptions. Additionally, this can help in setting up Single Sign On or Rostering Integration.
Please note that n2y does not communicate via email with students. The email address requirement is established to ensure records are not duplicated in the n2y platform and to serve as a log-in method for students who sign in to student view when engaging with their instructional activities.
