I want to be able to see my student’s scores immediately after they complete an assessment. What options do I have?
All assessments have the capability of showing a student’s results immediately after completion. Scores are available when administering the single format offered or when there are 2 formats of an assessment, when selecting the Receptive format (e.g., multiple choice, drag and drop, nonverbal responses only). When administering an Expressive format (e.g., verbal response), you will manually score the assessment after the student completes their portion of the assessment.
Here are 3 options to consider if you want to get your student’s scores immediately after they complete the assessment.
Option 1: Administer the assessment offline while scoring simultaneously.
Use this option if the teacher would like to score in the moment while still administering the Expressive format.
Step 1: Open the desired Benchmark.
Step 2: Select Begin under the Offline option.
Step 3: Print the materials.
Step 4: Under the Offline (Printable) option, click Start Offline Scoring to open the Score Entry on the teacher computer.
Step 5: Organize materials in the same order to present to the student. As the teacher administers each item offline to the student, they can enter the score on their computer.
Option 2: Utilize the Teacher-Led Receptive format of the assessment to allow the student to demonstrate the skill nonverbally.
Use this option if printing materials is not desirable and the teacher does not want to manually score upon completion of the assessment or does not have a strong preference for assessing the skill through the nonverbal (Receptive) format.
Step 1: Launch Teacher-Led Assessment.
Step 2: Select Receptive format.
Step 3: Provide support to the student as needed during the assessment.
Step 4: Results will be immediately available for the teacher to review.
Option 3: Print the scoring sheet to use while the student completes the Teacher-Led Expressive format.
Use this option if using the Expressive format and the recording feature to record student responses would be preferable (the recording can be later analyzed by another service provider while scoring the assessment).
Step 1: Print Administration & Scoring Guide.
Step 2: Launch Teacher-Led Assessment.
Step 3: Select Expressive format.
Step 4: Provide support to the student as needed during the assessment. Use the recording feature during the assessment.
Step 5: The recordings (and scoring sheet) can be used to manually record student responses.
