The Student Dashboard is changing on August 1, 2025.
Why is the Student Dashboard changing?
The opt-in period for the new student experience is coming to an end. From now on, your students' view of assignments will mirror yours, simplifying classroom management!
What changes will students see?
If you've opted into the new student experience, there will be no changes for your students. They will continue to see their assignments organized by Planner class.
If you haven't opted into the new student experience, your students will notice that their assignments are now organized by Planner class, rather than by solution.
Old - Organized by solution
New - Organized by Planner class
How can I prepare my students for this change?
Communicate Early Notify students in advance about the change. Let them know when the transition will happen and what to expect, so they aren't surprised.
Provide a Demo or Tutorial: Offer a brief tutorial or demonstration on how to navigate the new setup. Walk students through how assignments will now be organized by class. If the student uses a visual schedule, draw their attention to the connection between the schedule and their dashboard.
Highlight Key Differences: Emphasize the key differences between the old and new experiences. For instance, explain how assignments used to be organized by type (e.g., News2you, ULS) but now they will be organized by subject or class (e.g., Reading, Math).
Encourage Practice: Allow students to familiarize themselves with the new layout before they start using it for real assignments. Give them a practice assignment or an example task they can explore in the new system.
