A student’s differentiated level is determined by the profile specific to their grade band:
- Preschool (preschool grade band)
- K-12 Student Learning (elementary, intermediate, middle school, high school, transition grade bands)
- Transition Learning (high school, transition grade bands)
Students receive a differentiated level per category as well as an overall score. The overall score determines the level of differentiated materials they receive by default in Student View. The differentiated level can be updated by editing or creating a new profile.
New profiles should be created annually and updated throughout the year as needed. It is recommended the Profile be completed by an educational team who routinely works with the student, such as a parent, therapist, and teacher. When completing as a team, provide copies of a blank Profile beforehand so that each team member has the opportunity to consider the skills being addressed. A Profile Administrator guide is located to the right of the Profile name. This guide provides a hard copy of the Profile, directions for completion, and instructions for using the Profile results.
The Differentiated Level can also be updated from the Students page under Solution Settings > Unique Learning System > Differentiated Level. Please note, the Profile is the recommended way to determine a student's level.
