The orange exclamation point may appear in any of the following event categories within My Plans in the calendar view of Teacher Dashboard:
Math
Math lessons in Unique Learning System incorporate a broad range of skills and concepts each month. The same skills and concepts are then repeated unit over unit to allow for flexible pacing and repeated practice. For this reason, the Suggested Monthly Plan recommends a math focus for each day, but leaves the resource selection up to you.
Math lessons that require configuration vary by grade band but may include Number Sense, Math Story Problems, Algebra and Measurement and Data lessons.
To configure math lesson activities, select the exclamation point in the Edit Monthly Plans tab of the Teacher Dashboard. To delete a resource, click on the trash can. To confirm a resource, select the lesson, uncheck any activities you do not wish to include and then select Set As Configured.
If the suggested resources do not meet your needs, delete them and use Add Resources to browse other available math lessons.
Science and Social Studies
In addition to unit science and social studies materials, the intermediate through high school grade bands have access to a library of science and social studies courses. An orange exclamation point in a My Plan science or social studies block indicates a place where a science or social studies course is suggested.
To assign a course, select the exclamation point, choose Add Resource / Course Activity and then browse or search available courses. Once you’ve selected a course, choose the activity you want for the day (Activity 1 = Read Aloud, Activity 2 = Read and Answer, Activity 3 = Experiment or Project) and then set the resource as configured. As a final step to course configuration, open the course lesson plan, locate the title of the related n2y Library Book at the top of the page and then assign the Library Book. Students will then have access to any student-facing course activity resources and the related Library Book in Student View.
