The Unique Learning System monthly lessons are based on rotating science and social studies themes that are on a repeating three-year cycle. Our monthly units are updated to reflect new state standards and may occasionally be retired. The month-long unit format provides a practical mode of delivery to assure that the students receive optimal standards-based learning experiences for acquisition and generalization of skills and knowledge. In our month-long unit format, students engage in the repeated application of unit vocabulary and skills. The unit format also provides multiple access points for addressing IEP goals and Alternate Assessment evidence/skill development.
Unique Learning System lessons are designed around instructional targets that are derived from state and national standards. Reading, Writing, and Math instructional targets are addressed every month, and follow a scope and sequence where appropriate (e.g., letter-sounds, high-frequency words).
Please see this link for more information regarding our scope and sequence guide: How Does Unique Learning System Address Skills at Each Grade Band?
