n2y lesson activities are differentiated to meet students’ needs. Students requiring the maximum level of support can use level one differentiated materials.
For students with access to the internet, consider setting up student passwords and providing them to caregivers. Next, assign lesson activities from Unique Learning System or skills practice activities from L3 Skills.
For students with level one support needs, each lesson activity you assign in Unique Learning System from your My Plan will automatically be delivered with Level 1 differentiation. Level 1 activities encourage response and initial choice making. If your students do not have internet access you can send printed copies or email PDFs (scroll to the bottom of the Monthly Lesson page). Selecting a few lessons each day and having caregivers read to/with their child, make choices etc. will help your students continue learning.
For L3 Skills activities, you can select the magnifying glass on the very top right of the screen and browse by category. There are many activities that would be engaging and beneficial for students who require maximum support. Consider reviewing activities in the Cause and Effect and Fine Motor sections.
The simplified level of News-2-You articles and Breaking News can can be downloaded and emailed to caregivers. You can encourage caregivers to read articles with/to their children.
n2y will also have webinars next week that focus on how to set up and help parents with remote learning along with parent supports. In n2y’s Professional Development area under the Preparing for Remote Learning, you will also find letters to parents that may be helpful.
