n2y’s cloud-based solutions enable staff and students to participate in a variety of methods, including with or without technology and in any learning environment, such as remote learning. The activities are designed to be presented in a variety of ways to support each student’s individual needs for modification. Access to iDocs and Student View allows service providers to minimize supply costs by reducing the need to print - by providing virtual activities with accessibility features. For low tech classrooms or for hands-on instruction, service providers can download our materials as a .pdf and email them to students or parents/caregivers.
The following instructional tools will assist you in planning for printing materials when needed and with purchasing supplies to accompany activities such as recipes or crafts.
- Unique Learning System: Printing Guide
- Unique Learning System/News2you: Supply List
The Printing Guide can help minimize printing costs. It provides page numbers for each activity, as well as page numbers for the differentiated levels. This guide also makes recommendations for which materials to print in color or black and white, and which ones to laminate and save for future use. Service providers can use the Printing Guide to note the number of pages needed for that month and provide print services/district leadership.
n2y makes a conscious effort to utilize materials that are easily attainable and staples for many classrooms/pantries such as recycled milk jugs. Please note: depending on your student's needs you may need to consider manipulatives or hands-on materials.
Pro Tips:
- Follow the Suggested Unit Pacing and start each Unit on the first Wednesday of the month. This will allow for a full month of planning and time to gather supplies.
- Look for supplies that parents can easily collect and donate (e.g., paper towel tubes).
- For at-home instruction inform parents of the upcoming ingredients/supplies to allow time for shopping.
- Review the Lesson at a Glance page for each lesson for additional resources that may need to be collected.
