Two monthly units are available online at a time for access. The unit on the left is current and designed for the current month’s instruction, and the one on the right is designed for the future and available for planning purposes. The date that the unit will no longer be accessible (always the first Wednesday of a month) is indicated in the upper right corner. Teachers and service providers can select the desired unit at the top of the page before searching to tailor their results. The title, theme and availability date will update to reflect the change.
Each grade band in Unique Learning System is represented by a different color. The colors are reflected on the Monthly Lessons navigation, Teacher Dashboard and within the Lesson Plans themselves for quick identification. Users with access to multiple grade bands can switch between them using the drop-down menu under the unit availability date.
By default all lessons for a unit are displayed and provided in both a PDF and interactive iDoc format.
Lessons can be quickly sorted by subject via the left menu. The search box at the top of the page can be used to search by general and extended state standards, activity and lesson description, category or subject.
Selecting View Activities provides an expanded view of the lesson with all of the associated activities. Each activity has the option to show related state standards and preview the activity iDoc. For lesson activities that have interactive content, the Quick Assign icon is available.
Note that some lesson activities have content that is not available in an interactive format, such as the Word Wall. These activities will not be available for Quick Assign, but can be assigned via the My Plan to display on your exported schedule to provide to Administration.
